Foam Raised Floor Insulation for Regulating Colder Temperatures in Large Data Centres
When it comes to large data centres, computer servers generate endless amounts of heat and ensuring the reduction and cooling of the space is paramount to effective workflow and safety. The heat that’s caused by servers requires a carefully controlled environment due to the complex and highly expensive equipment used for big data. With the likes of Racks, CRAC Units, DX and Power Distribution Units, it a necessity for secure data rooms to monitor and control air flow.

Open Cell Polyurethane Foam
Zouch’s open cell flexible PU foam is used in many types of building applications and when it comes to critical data centre solutions, it’s designed as an air barrier to seal openings. It comes in 600mm x 600mm sheets by 50mm thickness and is perforated in cubes of 25mm x 25mm for ease of adapting its shape to fit around obstructions such as cabling. It’s a low cost solution that’s highly effective and easily installed making it perfect for raised flooring in data centres.
Controls air flow
Due to its open cell structure it works to improve cooling efficiency but at the same time reducing energy costs, specifically around cabling that needs to be tidy and secure, by preventing too much airflow. Our open cell foam also has a UL94 HF1 flame retardancy safeguard to protect personnel and equipment.
Prevents dust and debris
Open cell foam significantly reduces dust, debris and allergens and is mold growth resistant. It’s incredibly important to ensure that dust and debris isn’t exacerbated within data centres and is kept to bare minimum, with incoming air being ventilated around vast data centres.
